The models of Acer laptop have an integrated camera in the laptop itself. So, if your model consists of an Integrated camera, then you would have noticed a small tiny hole consisting of your microphone beside the camera.

Why The Microphone Is Not Working?

Follow these steps for the related issues:

  • Search for “type to search” { bottom left }, go to “change sound card settings” and press Enter.
  • Search for the recording tab in there

  • Select the show available devices from the menu by clicking the right click. 
  • So it will pop up the enabled and not enabled devices, select the built-in recording device and select “Enable” from the menu.

How To Update The BIOS Driver?

As many times the microphone, not working issues are also related to BIOS update or due to driver issues. These issues also tend to sound errors or weird sound issues. To overcome, we would guide you on how to update the driver and install it.

Follow the steps  to get the drivers updated :

  • go to the Acer official site and check for the updated bios file.
  • You have to format a USB key to fat32 and get it unzipped file on it.
  • After this activate the BIOS utility, by pressing the <F2> key during the POST; while the notebook PC logo is being displayed.
  • Check the flash utility on the last tab.
  • select the update from the USB key.

  •  just do not unplug, turn off and remove the battery until finished, so it won’t affect the update.

  2. As processing through this link, you can go under firmware in BIOS.
  3. After proceeding you can then updates DMIC settings and make sure to enable WoV.
  4. You can find the filename as BIOS_Acer_1.07_A_A.zip.
  5. After downloading the file unzip the file and install it with the power cable connected.

How To Enable The Driver For The Audio Jack Of 3.5mm?

Many times the microphone gets stopped due to unknown facts. However, we have made a clear observation above for how to resolve the microphone issues.

Follow these steps as mentioned:

  • Plug your jack cable into the device as you do the onscreen will get you a pop-up and click yes to the popup.
  • After following the on-screen notations kindly go to the apps list and go for Realtek audio console.
  • Following go through the device advance settings in it.
  • Afterward, go to the connector in retasking analog.
  • Now try changing from headphones to speakers then again from speakers to headphones.

How to Enable Built-in microphone?

Windows do have a different setting for activating the microphone in the HP laptop.

To do so, check whether the microphone is not disabled. For this to perform, you can check the above steps performed that might be helpful to activate the internal mic.

  • Go for the control panel in the search bar.
  • Open the sound icon and select the inputs option.
  • Activate/click the pull-down approach (Hardware pull-down ) further select the internal microphone In the device to be used and then apply the settings.
